It’s always a thrill when I find new old photos to add to my collection!
Mary Ann Ledger was born in 1834 in Wrotham, Kent, England as the fifth child of William Ledger and Elizabeth Ranger.
Most of you will, I’m sure, have heard of J.M.Barrie, James Matthew Barrie of Peter Pan fame, but how many of you have heard of his wife Mary Ansell.
So now I have identified the couple, the child on Mum Stella’s lap is indeed their first born Stella Joanna Matilda Parminter Tudor!
I was amazed when I opened the battered old suitcase and found eight certificates!
Imagine my surprise when I looked on the back of these photos to see they were of a family from Beaminster, Dorset!
And among the junk in one box on a stall I found a marriage certificate ! Who would throw that out !
