Contact and About Me

This is me taken at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight

I am a Collector of Old Photos & love finding treasures at Fairs, Fleamarkets & Car Boot sales and of course online during the last few years.
I love Family History, researching my own family and the families of old photos I find, it’s wonderful to share them with everyone on Twitter & Instagram & my Facebook Page and often after I have written about them, a family descendant makes contact & I have been lucky to be able to return them back to their families, such a joy.

The Small Tortoiseshell Butterfly

When I’m not researching I enjoy taking photos of the birds and wildlife that visit our garden. If we are out & about my camera is usually close at hand. I share some of my photos on Instagram.

We had several broods of Sparrows in our nestboxes on the back of our Bungalow in recent years, wonderful to watch.
Bee on our Cosmos in the garden
The Squirrels are regular visitors to our garden.
Peacock Butterfly
A beautiful Egret, taken at the Alan Hersey Reserve, Seaview, Isle of Wight. Sep 2021. They are about the same size as a Grey Heron.

My husband & I also love to wander around Churches and Churchyards, such beautiful treasures to be found & they are so full of history and memories.

If you too like Churches please take a look at my new Facebook Page Church Waffles

We have a Border Collie called Skye who is twelve years old & comes everywhere with us.
A selection of old photos from my collection.
I was featured in the iPaper with friends Simon (Charnwood Genealogy) & Helen (Author Helen Baggott) great fun!
Wonderful article by Hanna Woodside in the You Magazine in today’s Daily Mail (Sunday 13 February 2022)

Fabulous to have a mention in the You Magazine and great to get more publicity for Heirlooms, hopefully, it will help to encourage more people to treasure them and hunt for their own family Heirlooms.
