This is the group Wedding photo I shared on Saturday on Twitter and Instagram. So I thought as it had Mr & Mrs W J Evans written on it and an address I would do some quick research on the couple. Luckily for me, they were fairly easy to find as I knew the area they lived in was Birmingham.
259 Fordhouse Lane, Stirchley, Birmingham. Great to have a date too! 19 July 1922.
Florence Evelyn Bell was born on 22 November 1893 in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, her father, Harry, was 24, and her mother, Eliza, was 26. She died in January 1961 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, at the age of 67. Here below is the 1911 census for the Bell family.
Walter John Evans was born on 14 March 1897 in Kings Norton, Worcestershire, his father, William, was 28 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 22. He died on 27 May 1975 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, at the age of 78. Here below is the 1911 census for the Evans family.
I also found Walter’s parent’s marriage certificate.

After Florence married Walter John Evans on 19 July 1922 in Stirchley, Worcestershire. They had two children Evelyn J Evans 1924-1934 and Enid E Evans 1925-2000.
Walter was a Grocer (Shopkeeper) on the 1939 Register and they lived at 6. York Road, Birmingham, Warwickshire. Their daughter Enid went on to marry in 1945 to Leslie H Hill 1922-2000.
This is the small family tree I have compiled on Ancestry for the family: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/tree/181468500/family?cfpid=382359640678
And just to confirm I had the correct couple I found a photo of Walter on a public family tree on Ancestry in his uniform. He served in WW1: Residence Place154, George Street, West Hockley, Birmingham, England. Rank: Driver. Regiment: Royal Field Artillery, Section VI, Birmingham.
