🌻Miss M R Hurford Postcards update🌳

In November 2021, I bought a lovely collection of old postcards that used to belong to Miss M R Hurford a Postcard Collector.

I finally got around to writing a blog about them in February last year after I had researched Miss Hurford’s family history, and I am thrilled to let you know that I had a message from a descendant of the family and so now all the postcards are back safely with their family.

A lady contacted me on behalf of her Mum Rachel, and then I heard from Rachel, she told me a little about her collection, and that she has lots of fabulous postcards from her Aunt’s collection and kindly sent me a few photos to share with you all.

Rachel said “I’m sending some photos of the box of postcards that I found by complete chance on eBay. They belonged to Margaret Hurford and her sister.

This album was given to me by my second cousin who still lives in Edinburgh, he was Margaret’s nephew. He’s also been asking the family about the photos you sent me and one of the men in the photos is a member of my family by marriage“.

I’m thrilled, I collect old postcards and absolutely love them but I had no idea that it ran in the family! I came across all of the family ones by chance (or fate!)“.

Rachel was also able to tell me about this photo above from my blog that didn’t have any writing on it: “The man in the postcard with the moustache and cap is Cuthbert, Margaret’s husband“.

Here’s the direct link to my original Blog if you missed it: Miss M R Hurford Postcard Collector

Till next time then…….
