A Cornwall Family Album❤️

This last couple of weeks I have been sharing the old photos from this beautiful Victorian Album with everyone on Twitter and Instagram. So I thought this was the only way to be able to show everyone exactly what the Album itself is like. It’s a lovely green velvet-covered Album, in fairly good condition, but that’s not all. It’s the first Victorian Album I have ever seen with American themed pictures inside. So could this have been a gift from a relative who had emigrated?
Gold edged pages and clasp

Also, I’m sharing some of the many old photos I found within its pages.

Unbelievably this is the ONLY photo with any writing on! So frustrating! Is there a clue to the family’s identity on here I wonder?

The sender above is ‘LUCY is sending love to Dad, Mother and yourself TRIXIE‘, now Trixie it says is a shortened form of the given names Beatrix or Beatrice or Patricia or even just a nickname. So does this help anyone with identifying the family? I have so far looked at the 1891 census for Redruth, Cornwall for a Lucy with those variations of siblings and so far have found over 30 matches, none in Hayle. So over the next week, I shall go through and try and reduce that number if I can. It would be nice to have a possible match, wouldn’t it?

Please could everyone with Ancestors from Cornwall, please take a careful look at the faces on these photos. Do they look familiar? Could they belong to your family? I would love to identify them.

Till next time then………..
